Technology-Enhanced Task-Based Language Teaching: The Role of Artificial Intelligence
Main Article Content
Abstract
There is a beautiful saying, “The Sun never sets on the British Empire”. The meaning of the statement is that once upon a time, British invaded all over the world and every country was under their control. This is true in the aspect of English Language. The British implemented their language before they do their business. That’s how today the world even after the freedom from British, English language is the means of communication and link language. There are many ways to teach English around the world. But still TBLT plays a vital role in teaching ang learning English because it is close to natural way of learning a language. Some of the language experts argue that English is the easiest language to learn believing that TBLT takes care of language learning easier. Task-Based Language Learning (TBLT) has been recognised as an effective approach and a method. Because it has got meaningful interactions and real-world language goals. Today, the learners are very much familiar with technology, enhancing both TBLT and Technology is been a successful method of teaching and learning the language. TBLT is successful for all the languages in the world. This conceptual paper explores that the role of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing Task-Based Language Teaching with in ESL/EFL contexts. The researcher has conducted an experimental study on TBLT with Technology using apps. The study examines how AI driven tools such as speech recognition systems, adaptive learning platforms and auto mated feedback mechanisms could be integrated with TBLT principles to create learner centred, more interactive and personalised learning environments. This paper argues that potential of AI to support meaningful communication, learner autonomy and continuous formative feedback. This paper also discusses that AI-enhanced TBLT increases learners’ engagement, communicative competence, and digital literacy. At the same time there are few challenges in implementation. Such as over reliance on technology, internet availability etc…
