Artificial Intelligence in Education: A Strategic Tool for NEP 2020 Implementation
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper examines the applications and implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indian education within the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The policy highlights the role of technology in achieving universal literacy, equitable access, and experiential learning. AI-based tools such as adaptive learning systems, intelligent tutoring, virtual simulations, and automated writing assessment can enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. These technologies also enable personalized instruction and improved educational efficiency. However, the adoption of AI raises concerns related to ethics, bias, data privacy, and the evolving role of teachers. Addressing these challenges requires thoughtful policy frameworks and responsible implementation. While AI can support educational transformation, human teachers remain essential in guiding learners with empathy, values, and judgment.a
